When I announced that I was running for mayor last May, I knew that Nashville couldn’t wait.
We couldn’t wait to build the transit system we keep overlooking.
We couldn’t wait to start building safer streets after the deadliest year on record for pedestrians.
We couldn’t wait to stop driving through giant pools of standing water in our neighborhoods when it rains hard for half an hour.
We couldn’t wait to make sure we can communicate effectively when disasters like rolling brownouts strike.
We couldn’t wait to start strengthening our schools further as the state keeps trying to dismantle them.
We couldn’t wait to really start emphasizing the priorities it seems like we keep being told we have to wait for!
So when Mayor Cooper announced he wasn’t seeking re-election just a few weeks ago, I was a little surprised by the speculation that so many people were suddenly thinking about running for mayor.
What have they been waiting for?
We didn’t wait. And we can’t wait to continue the conversation. We hope you won’t wait to join us.
Can you invest $100 today to help us get our track record of accomplishment and work ethic, deep understanding of Metro, and preparedness to lead to as many voters as possible?
Thanks for sharing the urgency with us.
My best ...
